It was basically 400hp in a 1700lb car(human included). It also had a OHV Chevy V6, which sounded amazing! Revved to 7K, and basically shook the whole car. Hopefully they person driving will upload the GoPro footage. Then you might understand.

500hp per ton(ish)? sounds pretty fucking insane.

It is about 1300- 1400lbs without people. So it probably has more, around 600hp.

The push it gave, was ridiculous! The owner and his son are super cool, and gave rides to a lot of people.

What OHV Chevy V6 did they use that goes to 7k and makes 400HP? I'm assuming it was turbocharged? I don't think GM made a V6 over 4ish liters, and even with racing parts. 100HP/liter on a OHV N/A V6 at only 7000rpm is pretty nuts.

It was a 4.3L. It wasn't just a drop in. It runs only on race fuel, and redline was changed to 7K with some computer tweeking. It felt like 400hp if anything, so the butt dyno says everything adds up.

Good for them! I love when people really drive their cars that they do lots of work on.

I can see that, but it must have some crazy good fuel and extremely high (14:1 or higher) compression with a racing intake. Sounds awesome!

Well, a quick google search bring up this . Apparantly the engine was used in the 1978 Malibu and is still being used today. It made about 200hp in 2002, so they basically doubled the output.

Maybe, I know they make what are basically V6 Sevens. I think though that this was a 7 to begin with and they ended up putting a V6 in it. Not 100% sure though.
